Bluejay Women's Soccer Team Downs Webster in Overtime

ELMHURST, Ill. - Valerie Wesley
scored the game-winning goal with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime to lift the Elmhurst College women's soccer team to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Webster University.

Elmhurst (9-5-0) trailed 1-0 after Webster's Megan Niedershulte scored off a Kesley McClure assist in the 28th minute. Webster (9-5-0) maintained its lead until the 87th minute when Elmhurst's Katie Baschen headed home a Kelsey Caldwell corner kick to knot the score at 1-1.

The game remained even at one until Wesley collected a throw-in, dribbled past her defender and fired the ball into the back of the net with just 1:32 left to play in the second overtime.

Allison Korbel earned the win in the net for the Bluejays after playing over 63 scoreless minutes in net and collecting five saves. Jessica Eberle played the first half in goal for Elmhurst and allowed one goal while stopping five shots. Shelby Wade recorded 11 saves and allowed two goals in net for Webster.

Elmhurst travels to Carthage College on Wednesday, October 21.
