ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's cross country teams ran at the 2009 CCIW Championships at Eldridge Park. The women's team placed fourth while the men's squad finished in sixth place.
On the women's side, the Bluejays totaled 84 points to finish fourth.
Katlyn Bednarski earned all-conference honors by placing third overall in a time of 24:02. Shauna Potrawski narrowly missed earning all-conference honors, placing 16th overall in 24:48.
Mariola Grzybowska finished 19th in 24:58 while
Hannah Williams placed 21st with a time of 25:02.
Megan Johnson finished just four seconds behind Williams in 25th place (25:06).
Lauren Williams (26th place in 25:12) and
Amanda Andersen (36th place in 26:14) rounded out the Bluejays' top seven.
On the men's side, the Bluejays totaled 161 points to place sixth, finishing just eight points behind fifth-place finisher Carthage College.
Tom McGrath led the Bluejays by placing 22nd overall in 28:11.
Ken Ptack finished 30th in 28:43 while
Jake Austin finished just a split second behind in 31st place. Nathan Selling added a 37th-place finish in 29:04 while
Daniel DeCleene placed 41st in 29:32.
Jeff Camp (43rd place in 30:12) and
Andrew Dunham (46th place in 30:46) rounded out the Bluejays' top seven.
Elmhurst runs at the NCAA Midwest Regional on Saturday, November 14.
