Elmhurst Volleyball Team Downed By Carthage in CCIW Tourney

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College volleyball team's 2009 season came to a close with a 13-25, 19-25, 21-25 loss to Carthage College at the CCIW Tournament.
Carthage, ranked eighth in the latest AVCA poll, improved to 34-3 overall with the victory while Elmhurst finishes the season with a 17-17 overall record.
Lisa Burger and
Meghan Mullaney led Elmhurst in the loss with five kills apiece.
Caitlin O'Hara and Janelle Thompson added four kills each in the loss. O'Hara added three blocks while
Lindy Melville finished with 13 assists.
Katie Buechel totaled a team-leading 22 digs.
Carthage was led by Rachel Swoboda's 12 kills. Michelle Madeja totaled 10 kills for the Lady Reds.
