Six Bluejays Named to All-Conference Men's Soccer Team

ELMHURST, Ill. - Six members of the Elmhurst College men's soccer team have been named to the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) all-conference team. Three Bluejays earned first-team recognition while the remaining three Bluejays earned second-team honors. In addition, Elmhurst sophomore midfielder Brian McMahon was named the CCIW's Co-Player of the Year while Elmhurst head coach Dave Di Tomasso was named the league's Coach of the Year.

Brandon Violette and Jon Brehm joined McMahon as first-team selections while Sebastian Domczewski, Randy Warren, and Matt Sterner all earned second-team recognition.

Di Tomasso earned his first Coach of the Year honor after guiding Elmhurst to its first CCIW Championship. Di Tomasso's squad finished undefeated in conference play with a 5-0-2 record. The Bluejays finished the regular season with a 13-3-4 overall record and have been selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the program's brief six-year history. Elmhurst is currently riding a 10-game unbeaten streak that dates back to September.

McMahon, who shared the league's Player of the Year award with Wheaton's Matt Swartz, finished the CCIW season as the league's co-leader in points with 10. He totaled four goals and two assists in league contests. For the season, he is the Bluejays’ co-leader in goals scored with seven. He ranks third on the team in total points with 15. He scored a hat trick in the Bluejays' 3-0 victory over North Central College earlier this season, netting CCIW Offensive Player of the Week honors in the process.

Brandon Violette
Violette, a senior defender, helped anchor an Elmhurst defense that held CCIW opponents to a 1.08 goals against average in conference game. For the season, the Bluejays have a goals against average of just 1.10.

Brehm, a junior forward, earned his third consecutive first-team all-conference honor. After missing time early in the season with an injury, the Bluejays' all-time leading scorer has found his scoring touch, netting six goals in the Bluejays' last six games. He ranks second on the squad in goals scored and is fourth in total points.

Sebastian Domczewski
Domczewski, a junior goal keeper, has earned the league's Defensive Player of the Week award twice this season. He ranked second in the CCIW in goals against average (1.08) while leading the league in both saves (44) and save percentage (.846). For the season, he has stopped 104 shots and recorded six shutouts in goal.

Randy Warren
Warren, a junior defender, has also played a key role in the Bluejays' defense. In addition to helping keep opponents off the scoreboard, Warren has also contributed to the Bluejays' offense, totaling four goals and four assists on the season. He was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week earlier this season. Warren ranked as one of the CCIW's co-leader in assists with three helpers in conference contests. He also totaled two of his four goals in league games.

Matt Sterner
Sterner, a sophomore forward, is the Bluejays' co-leader in goals scored while also leading the team in both assists and total points. Sterner has scored seven goals and recorded seven assists to total a team-leading 21 points. He averaged a point per game in conference play, totaling two goals and two assists while playing in six of the Bluejays' seven conference contests.

Elmhurst's season will continue in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bluejays will travel to Dominican University for a first-round contest on Saturday, November 14, at 11:00 a.m.
