MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - The Elmhurst College bowling team upped its record to 20-33 overall after posting a 10-1 record at the Jeanette Lee Invitational.
Elmhurst posted a perfect 6-0 record on the tournament's first day, which consisted of six five-player games. The Bluejays kicked off the day with an 842-739 victory over St. Paul's College.
Alyssa Vogler led the squad in the win by rolling a 212. Elmhurst followed with an 899-710 win over Johnson C. Smith University.
Ann Bialk led the charge for Elmhurst with a 188.
Amanda Warwick bowled a team-leading 181 as the Bluejays moved to 3-0 on the day by toppling Chown University 765-603.
Elmhurst added wins against North Carolina Central University (824-740), St. Augustine's College (848-598), and Livingstone College (895-544). Vogler paced Elmhurst in the win over North Carolina Central with a 194 while
Shannon Grimes led the Bluejays in the win over St. Augustine by bowling a 206.
Sarah Paul paced Elmhurst in the victory over Livingstone with a 202.
The tournament's second day consisted of total pinfall Baker matches. The Bluejays downed Elizabeth City State University 666-546 to start the day. The Bluejays then squeaked out victories over Bowie State University (723-703) and Fayetteville State University (692-677). Elmhurst downed Virgina State University (753-568) before closing out the tournament with a loss to 11th-ranked Adelphi University (702-633).
