BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team slipped to 1-6 on the season after dropping matches to Illinois Wesleyan University and Quincy University.
The Bluejays dropped both decisions by 6-3 finals scores.
ILLINOIS WESLEYAN 6, ELMHURST 3 - Illinois Wesleyan won four of the six singles matches and two of the three doubles contests to earn the victory. Virginia Dallman scored a 6-4, 6-4 win over Helen Alex at No. 1 singles to get Elmhurst on the scoreboard. Blaire Hufford added a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Sarah Wilson at No. 5 singles. The Bluejays' No. 1 doubles team of Dallman and Shannon Dale scored a 9-8 win over Alex and Liz Exo to account for Elmhurst's final point.
QUINCY 6, ELMHURST 3 - Quincy scored the 6-3 win by taking four of of the six singles contests and by winning a pair of the doubles matches. Elmhurst scored two of its points in singles play with Dallman defeating Anele Novak 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and Stephanie Ruff scoring a 6-2, 6-0 win over Lauren Henry at No. 3 singles. Dallman and Dale combined to defeat Novak and Henry 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.
