BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's cross country teams returned to action by running at the Illinois Intercollegiate Invitational at Illinois State University.
The men's team placed 16th overall with 529 points while the women's squad finished 15th with 360 points.
On the men's side, the Bluejays finished in 10th place in the College Division (Non Division I teams). Tom McGrath led the Bluejays by placing 123d with a time of 27:11. Nathan Selling finished in 132nd place in 27:18 while Jake Austin placed 142nd in 27:33. Jeff Camp crossed the finish line in 27:42, good for a 149th palce finish. while Ken Ptack crossed placed 162nd iin 27:58 Todd Byrne (205th place in 28:54) and and Andrew Dunham (211th place in 29:02) rounded out the Bluejays' scoring.
On the women's side, the Bluejays placed eighth in the College Division (Non Division I teams). Katlyn Bednarski was the top finisher for the Bluejays, crossing the finish line in 19:20, good for a 49th place finish. Hannah Williams placed 65th overall in 19:32 while Shauna Potrawski placed 72nd in 19:41. Lauren Williams added a 95th place finish in 20:02 while Megan Johnson finished in 99th place in 20:08. Amanda Andersen (123rd place in 20:26) and Mariola Grzybowska (142nd place in 20:45) rounded out the Bluejays' scoring.
Both Elmhurst teams run at the Augustana College Invitational on Friday, September 25.
