WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team fell to 3-7 overall following a 9-0 shutout loss to Luther College.
Luther swept all six singles matches and the three doubles contests en route to the 9-0 victory.
Shannon Dale fell 6-0, 6-2 to Luther's Kelsie Allen at No. 1 singles while Stephanie Ruff fell to Fran Fairfield6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. Luther's Brynne Zinnecker defeated Donna McKinney 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles while Alana Humpal downed Elmhurst's Blaire Hufford 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 doubles. Luther's Elise Allen downed Elmhurst's Alexis Ross 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles while Cami Czech blanked Emily Tarlini 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
In doubles play, the Bluejays duo of McKinney and Hufford was downed by Kelsie Allen and Zinnecker 8-2 at No. 1 doubles. Humpal and Nichols toppled Ruff and Tarlini 8-0 at No. 2 doubles while Fairfield and Czech blanked Dale and Ross 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
Elmhurst plays at Moraine Valley College on Tuesday, September 29.
