Lyndise Long Named CCIW Player of the Week

ELMHURST, Ill. - For the third time this season, Elmhurst College forward Lyndsie Long has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin's (CCIW) Player of the Week in women's basketball.

Long netted the honor after averaging 29 points and 8.5 rebounds while leading Elmhurst to a pair of conference road victories last week.  She shot .529 (18-of-34) from the floor and .944 (17-of-18) from the foul line.

On Tuesday (January 19), she scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down a team-leading nine rebounds in the Bluejays' 77-73 win at North Park.  On Saturday (January 23), she equaled her career-high in scoring by totaling 33 points in the Bluejays' 81-73 win at Wheaton. She added a game-high eight rebounds in the win over the Thunder. 

Long currently ranks sixth in the nation and leads the CCIW in scoring, averaging 22.5 points per contest. She also ranks second in the nation in free throw percentage (.933). 

A two-time first-team all-conference selection, Long currently ranks fourth in Elmhurst history in points scored (1,592). She also ranks ninth in school history in rebounding (566). Long is also the current career leader in both 3-point percentage and free throw percentage. 

Elmhurst hosts North Central College on Tuesday, January 26.
