DECATUR, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team currently sits in seventh place after the opening two rounds of the CCIW Championship at the Country Club of Decatur.
The Bluejays shot a two-day total of 640 to place seventh. Elmhurst trails North Park University by 14 strokes for sixth place. Illinois Wesleyan University is at the top of the standings with a 595.
After shooting a 316 on the tournament's opening day, Elmhurst struggled on day two, shooting a 324 to finish the opening two rounds with a 640.
Josh Gorzney is currently tied for 16th place with a 156 (80-76).
Matt Cross,
Billy Buchholz, and
Tyler Qahhaar are all tied for 29th place with a 162. Cross shot an 80 on the opening day and an 82 on day two. Buchholz fired a team-leading 77 on the opening round, but struggled on day two, shooting an 85. Qahhaar opened the tournament with a 79 and shot an 83 on day two.
Scott Stastny is currently tied for 36th place with a 165 (82-83).
The final two rounds of the CCIW Championship will be played on April 30-May 1 at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.
