WHITEWATER, Wis. - The Elmhurst College women's tennis team fell to 5-12 on the season after dropping a pair of matches at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The Bluejays started the day with an 8-1 loss to Edgewood College. Elmhurst was blanked by UW-Whitewater 9-0 in the Bluejays' second match of the day.

EDGEWOOD 8, ELMHURST 1 - Edgewood swept the three doubles matches and score victories in five of the six singles contests en route to the 8-1 victory.

Edgewood's Kelsey Steinhorst defeated Stephanie Ruff 7-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Amber Hemp downed Shannon Dale 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. The Eagles' Shae Beckwith defeated Blaire Hufford 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles while Jessi Ditzler toppled Alexis Ross 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Bridget Prendergrast followed with a 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Emily Tarlini at No. 5 singles. Elmhurst scored it's only point of the match at No. 6 singles when Donna McKinney defeated Brittany Storhoff 6-4, 6-0. 

In doubles play the duo of Beckwith and Hemp defeated Ruff and Dale 9-7 at No. 1 doubles. Pendergrast and Steinhorst combine to defeat McKinney and Hufford 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Ditzler and Storhoff scored an 8-5 win over Ross and Tarlini at No. 3 doubles. 

UW-WHITEWATER 9, ELMHURST 0 - Elmhurst dropped to 5-12 overall following a 9-0 shutout loss to UW-Whitewater. 

At No. 1 singles Ingrid Stevens downed Ruff 6-1, 6-1 while Annie Smith toppled Dale 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Michelle Daciolas defeated Hufford 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles while Sydney Divelbiss downed Ross 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. Abby Martin (6-0, 6-0 over Tarlini at No. 5) and Kelly Foster (6-4, 4-6, 10-5 over McKinney at No. 6), completed the singles sweeps for the Warhawks. 

In doubles play, Amy Sieomon and Kelly Rutkowski downed Ruff and Dale 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. Megan Kasten and Kathleen Kappel knocked off Hufford and McKinney 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Martin and Foster finished the shutout with an 8-0 win over Ross and Tarlini at No. 3 doubles.
