HANOVER PARK, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's tennis team slipped to 6-9 overall and 0-3 in CCIW play following a 7-2 loss to Augustana College at Centre Court Athletic Club.

Augustana (18-9, 2-1 CCIW) won four of the six singles contests and swept the three doubles matches en route to the 7-2 victory.

Elmhurst scored its only two points of the match at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.Elmhurst's David Devaney opened singles play by defeating Adam DeSimone 7-6, 6-3 at No. 1 singles.Dave Douglass followed with a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Nik Lehnert at No. 2 singles. The Vikings Chris Mullin downed Dean Leventis 6-3, 6-4 at No. 3 singles while Kyle Doyle toppled Justin Guenther 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4 singles. Jack Cullen (6-1, 6-1 over Jim White) and Geoff Schoon (6-1, 6-3 over Eric Moss) completed singles play with wins at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. 

In doubles play, the duo of DeSimone and Mullin defeated Douglass and Devaney 8-5 at No. 1 doubles, while Doyle and Lehnert downed Moss and Leventis 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Schoon and Cullen teamed to score an 8-6 victory over White and Guenther at No. 3 doubles.

The Bluejays travel to Carthage College on Saturday, April 24.
