Men's Tennis Team Blanked By Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. -
The Elmhurst College men's tennis team fell to 6-10 overall and 0-4 in CCIW play after falling to 15th-ranked Carthage College 9-0.

Carthage's Jack Schiro toppled Elmhurst's David Devaney 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles while the Red Men's Sammy Ramoni defeated Dave Douglass 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Carthage's Jeffrey Lotz defeated Dean Leventis 6-0, 6-0 while Matt Whiteside toppled Elmhurst's Justin Guenther 6-0, 6-1 at No. 4 singles. J.T Delk (6-2, 6-1 over Jim White) and Alex McLean (6-0, 6-1 over Eric Moss) scored wins for Carthage at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. 

In doubles play, Ramoni and Lotz defeated Devaney and Douglass 8-2 at No. 1 doubles while Schiro and Andy Schwenke toppled Leventis and Moss 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Whiteside and Delk finished the sweep for the Red Men with an 8-1 victory over Guenther and White at No. 3 doubles.
