CCIW Championships Site
WHEATON, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's and women's track and field teams returned to action by competing at the 2010 CCIW Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Wheaton College. The men's team placed eighth with 14 points while the women's squad finished seventh with 18 points.
On the men's side,
Ryan Bock became the first Bluejay to earn all-conference honors on Friday, by placing fourth in the javelin. Bock recorded a throw of 166-9 to score all five of the Bluejays' day-one points. On the track,
Mark D'Angelo earned all-conference accolades in the 400 meters by placing eighth with a time of 50.62 seconds. The Bluejays' 4x100 relay team of D'Angelo,
Kurt Kibler ,
Jon Janus, and
Matt Forster placed fourth with a time of 43.38 seconds to earn all-conference honors.
For the women,
Katlyn Bednarski was the top finisher on the track for the Bluejays, placing fourth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:08.03.
Kate Pilson added a fourth-place finish in the shot put, recording a toss of 40-04.75.
Whitney Roth added a sixth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 116-00.
Tracy Brtis earned all-conference honors in the 400 hurdles by placing seventh in 1:09.49.
Erin Thomson earned all-conference honors in the hammer throw by placing eighth. Thomson recorded a toss of 123-00 to place eighth.
