Becca Zumpf has been named to the
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team selection.
The 12-member District Five squad, voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), is comprised of athletes from colleges and universities in the states of Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana.
As a first-team selection, Zumpf advances to the national ballot where she has a chance to earn
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America honors.
Zumpf, the Bluejays' starting left fielder finished the season hitting .383 with a team-leading 23 RBI. Zumpf also led the team in doubles (seven), triples (six), runs scored (27), extra base hits 14), walks (12), slugging percentage (.574), and on-base percentage (.447).
Zumpf earned all-conference and all-region honors last season after leading the team with a .385 average. In three seasons with the Bluejays, Zumpf has career totals of 108 hits, 14 doubles, 13 triples, one home run, 44 RBI, 67 runs, and a .354 average. She ranks 11th in school history in hits, ninth in runs scored, second in walks (39), eighth in batting average (.354), and fourth in slugging percentage (.574). She is also tied for the career lead in triples with 13.
A mathematics major, Zumpf is graduating after just three years at Elmhurst. She maintains a 3.78 grade-point average.
The Elmhurst softball team finished the season with a 22-16 overall record and a 7-7 mark in CCIW play.
