Women's Soccer Team Tabbed For Fifth in CCIW Preseason Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team has been picked to finish fifth in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) in a preseason vote of the league's coaches.
Elmhurst finished in fifth place in the poll with 25 points, finishing just one point shy of fourth-place finisher Millikin University.
Augustana College, the CCIW Champions in 2009, has been picked to defend its title. The Vikings finished on top of the poll with 47 points, including five first-place votes. Wheaton College was tabbed for second place with 44 points, including the final three first-place votes. Illinois Wesleyan University was slotted third in the poll with 38 points.
Carthage College (20 points), North Park University (17 points), and North Central College (seven points) rounded out the remainder of the poll.
Points are assigned in reverse order of voting (seven points for first, six for second, etc.) and coaches may not vote for their own team.
Elmhurst finished the 2009 season with a 10-7 overall record a 3-4 mark in the CCIW. The Bluejays return seven starters and open the 2010 season by hosting Dominican University on September 1.
