Women's Soccer Squad Blanked By Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team dropped to 1-1 on the season following a 1-0 shutout loss to Kalamazoo College.
After a scoreless opening half, Kalamazoo's Jackie Short scored the game's only goal in the 66th minute to give the Hornets the 1-0 victory. Short scored off an assist from Stephanie Verbeek.
Both teams managed just seven shots in the contest.
Allison Korbel took the loss in net for the Bluejays despite allowing just one goal. She added two saves in the loss. Kalamazoo's Courtney McCoy stopped all three shots she faced in net to earn the shutout for the Hornets.
Elmhurst finishes its two-game Michigan road trip with a stop at Albion College on Sunday, September 5.
