ALBION, Mich. - The Elmhurst College women's soccer team upped its record to 2-1 on the season following a 2-1 road victory over Albion College.
Sarah Harvey netted Elmhurst's second goal against Albion.
All of the scoring took place in the first half, with the Bluejays wasting little time getting on the scoreboard. Biba Beckwith netted her second goal of the season off of a Valerie Wesley assist just 5:30 minutes into the contest. Sarah Harvey staked Elmhurst to a 2-0 lead in the 18th minute when she scored off a pass from Beckwith.
Albion's Lauren Beck sliced the Bluejays' lead in half when she scored of a Rachel Kain cross in the 30th minute of action.
Elmhurst outshot Albion (1-2) 16-8 in the contest.
Allison Korbel scored the victory for Elmhurst in the net, allowing just one goal and recording three saves. Sam Bowditch took the loss for Albion, allowing two goals and tallying seven saves in the contest.
Elmhurst hosts Lawrence University at Berens Park on Wednesday, September 8, at 4:00 p.m.
