NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team shot a one-day total of 490 to place fourth at the Cress Creek Invitational hosted by Benedictine University.
Wheaton College won the team title at the 27-hole invitational with a 463 edging the host Benedictine squad by 20 strokes (483). North Central College shot a 488 to finish two strokes in front of the Bluejays for third place.
Grant Yoder led the Bluejays with a 118, tying for fifth place.
Evan Haase carded a 124 to tie for 20th place while
Mike Somone shot a 128 to tie for 29th place.
Tyler Beyak finished a stroke behind Somone with a 129, good for a 31st place finish.
Jordan Christensen finished the event with a 34th-place finish by shooting a 131.
Elmhurst entered a second team in the event and the Bluejays' "B" team placed seventh with a total of 507.
Matt Cross entered the clubhouse with a 118, tying Yoder for a fifth-place individual finish.
Joe Johnston shot a 121 to tie for 15th place while
Alex Pecenka carded a 132 to tie for 36th place.
Jon Gill rounded out the Bluejays' team score with a 136 (tied for 42nd place).
