Women's Golf Team Places Fifth at CCIW Championship

DAVENPORT, Iowa -
The Elmhurst College women's golf team finished in fifth place at the CCIW Championship at Emeis Golf Course in Davenport, Iowa.

Elmhurst opened the tournament on Friday by shooting a 348 to sit in sixth place. On day two, The Bluejays shaved two strokes off their day one total, tallying a 346 on day two and sliding into fifth place with a two-day score of 694. Elmhurst wrapped up the third and final day of the championship by shooting a 357 and totaling a score of 1,051.

Illinois Wesleyan University won its 10th straight CCIW title by finishing the three-day event with a 955. North Central College totaled a 1,013 (339-337-337) edged Carthage College for second place. Carthage totaled a 1,019 (339-341-339) to finish third while Augustana College (1,046) held off the Bluejays for fourth place Millikin University totaled a 1,061 (342-359-360) to place sixth, just six strokes in front of Wheaton College's seventh-place total of 1,067 (352-367-348). North Park University finished eighth with a 1,260.

Ashley Beverage was the top finisher for the Bluejays, finishing in 13th place with a 256. Beverage hovered around the top-10 for the entire championship, shooting an 82 on the opening day, and 85 on day two, and an 89 on the final day.

Courtney Classen climbed into a 17th-place tie at the conclusion of the championship by shooting a 262. Classen carded a 91 on day one before improving by six strokes on day two with an 85. Classen finished the third day with an 86.

Amanda Wright finished in 20th place with a 263. After shooting an opening-round 82, Wright totaled an 88 on day two and entered the clubhouse with a 93 on day three. Trisha Goss finished tied for 28th place after totaling a 270. Goss fired a 93 on day one before cutting five strokes off her score on day two with an 88. Goss carded an 89 on the final day of the championship.

Jordan Maisto totaled a 286 to finish in 36th place. Maisto carded a 97 on day one, a 93 on day two, and a 96 on day three.
