MADISON, Wis. - The Elmhurst College bowling team placed 11th out of 20 teams based on total pinfall and posted a 4-6 dual record while competing at the USBC's Warhawk Open.
Elmhurst posted a 3-3 dual record on the tournament's first day which consisted of standard dual matches. The Bluejays opened with a 853-780 loss to Robert Morris University-Peoria. Larissa Howard paced Elmhurst in the loss with a team-high 175. Elmhurst followed with back-to-back wins over Rock Valley College (793-752) and Mt. Mercy College (822-769).
Beth Bogdanich rolled a 180 and Howard added a 175 to lead the Bluejays in the win over Rock Valley.
Amanda Warwick bowled a 204 and Howard added a 191 in Elmhurst's victory over Mt. Mercy.
Elmhurst had its two-match winning streak snapped with an 818-751 loss to Robert Morris University-Illinois despite Warwick rolling a team-high 199. Elmhurst bounced back from the loss to edge Winona State University 926-636 behind Bogdanich's team-leading 213.
Nancy Brown added a 199 for the Bluejays in the win over Winona State. Elmhurst closed the first day with an 883-792 loss to St. Ambrose University.
Alyssa Collins paced Elmhurst with a 201 in the loss.
Sunday's format consisted of total-pinfall Baker matches and the Bluejays posted a 1-3 record on the day. Elmhurst started on a positive note, toppling Western Illinois University 675-578. The Bluejays closed the day with three straight losses, falling to Midland University (805-655), University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (639-608) and Clarke University (679-572).
Elmhurst moved to 14-24 overall.
The Bluejays travel to the Crusader Classic at Valparaiso University on November 11-13.
