KENOSHA, Wis. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team took home fifth place at the Carthage Fall Invite on Monday. The tournament spanned 36 holes and was competed at The Club at Strawberry Creek.
Tyler Beyak and
Matt Cross tied for the top Bluejay finish. Both tied for 19th with scores sitting at 13 over-par with a total of 157. Cross fired an opening round score of 74, just two strokes over par and the lowest mark for Elmhurst on the day. Beyak's first round total of 76 was the second best mark for Elmhurst in single round play, tied with Joe Johnson. Johnson shot a 76 in the second round of action on Monday.
Grant Yoder finished just one shot behind the pair with a score of 158.
Evan Haase shot a 167 to tie for 50th.
Jordan Christensen led the second Elmhurst team with a mark of 166, tied for 44th overall in the 14-team, 75 player invite.
Nick Dylla added a 175 to tie for 63rd place.
Jimmy Critchfield and
Mike Somone both carded a 180 to tie for 67th place.
Alex Pecenka shot a 191 to tie for 74th place.
Elmhurst continues play in the fall season on Tuesday at the University of St. Francis Fall Classic.
