CHICAGO, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's track and field squad kicked off the 2012 indoor season by posting a 5-5 dual record at the University of Chicago Duals.

Elmhurst scored wins over Illinois-Chicago (63-21), North Park (52-39), Northwestern (65-0), Robert Morris (51-37), and Roosevelt (62-5). The Bluejays dropped duals to Beloit (90-45), Illinois Institute of Technology (60-50), Loyola (63-46), St. Ambrose (118-31), and Chicago (105-30).

Lauren Williams turned in the best performance for the Bluejays, finishing the mile run in 5:24.16, good for second place.

Jessica Cochiaro scored a top-10 finish in the 200 meters with a time of 29.24 seconds. Shelly Shapasian finished seventh in the 400 meters, recording a time of 1:10.55.

The Bluejays 4x400 relay squad of Rachel Gibson, Elyse Christofanelli, Maria Luna, and Lauren Williams placed fifth with a time of 4:38.04.

Kate Pilson added a top-10 finish in the shot put, placing eighth in the event with a toss of 33-8.75
