FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. - The Elmhurst College bowling team posted a 3-7 record while competing at the two-day McKendree University Baker Challenge.
All of the matches at the tournament were four-game total-pinfall Baker matches with alternate bowlers.
The Bluejays struggled on day one, dropping all six of their matches. Elmhurst opened with a 594-542 loss to McKendree before falling 632-613 to Robert Morris University-Peoria. Elmhurst also dropped matches to Calumet College-St. Joseph (676-508), Newman University (709-593), Robert Morris University-Illinois (804-643) and Lindenwood University (790-655).
The Bluejays bounced back on the tournament's second day, recording a 3-1 record. Elmhurst opened the day with a two-pin victory (637-635) over the University of Illinois. The Bluejays then defeated Lindenwood University-Belleville 630-618 before downing Robert Morris University-Lake County (641-631). Elmhurst ended the day with a 701-644 loss to Bellarmine University.
