COAL VALLEY, Ill. - The Elmhurst men's golf team currently sits in eighth place with a 658 after the opening two rounds of the CCIW Championship at Oakwood Country Club.
The Bluejays shot an opening-day score of 336 on Friday before shaving 14 strokes off their score and shooting a 322 on Saturday.
Illinois Wesleyan sits in first place with a 600 while Carthage is in second place with a 605. Millikin is in third place with a 608. Elmhurst trails Augustana (655) by three strokes for seventh place.
Grant Yoder is currently tied for 14th place. Yoder finished the two days with a 157. After shooting a 77 on Friday, Yoder carded an 80 on day two.
Nick Dylla (tied for 34th with a 166),
Joe Johnston (tied for 38th with a 167), and
Evan Haase (tied for 40th with a 168) are seperated by just three strokes. Dylla fired an 87 on day one before shooting a team-low 79 on day two. Johnston carded an 86 on Friday and completed the course with an 81 on day two. Haase shot an 86 on day one and shave four strokes off his day two score (82).
Tyler Beyak is currently tied 44th place with a 172 after shooting an 89 on day one and carding an 83 on day two.
Jon Gill sits in 48th place with a 196. Gill shot a 102 on day one before taking eight strokes off his day two score (94).
The four-round CCIW Championship moves to Meadowbrook Country Club in Racine, Wis. for rounds 3-4 on May 4-5.
