NORMAL, Ill. - The Elmhurst College men's golf team shot a two-day total of 662 to place 19th out of 24 teams at the Illinois Wesleyan University Invitational.

The University of St. Francis won the team title with a total of 602, edging Nebraska Wesleyan University on a tiebreaker. Carthage College finished third with a 603.

Joe Johnston was the top finisher for the Bluejays. Johnson tied for 66th place with a 162. He shot an 85 on day one, but closed round two with a team-best 77.

Tyler Beyak finished tied for 68th place, just one stroke behind Johnson with a 163. Beyak fired an 82 on day one and carded an 81 on day two. Grant Yoder recorded a 164 (84-80) to finish tied for 71st. Mike Somone (173 with a 86-87) and Evan Haase (179 with an 88-91) rounded out the Bluejays team score. Somone finished tied for 100th place while Haase tied for 109th place.

Elmhurst hosts the Bluejay Classic at Oak Brook Golf Club on Monday (April 9)
