Kaitlyn Wilks Earns Academic Honor

Capital One Division III Academic All-District Teams

Elmhurst volleyball player Kaitlyn Wilks has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Team as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Wilks was one of seven members selected to the Division III Academic All-District Team comprised of Division III volleyball players from Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

A middle hitter for the Bluejays, Wilks has totaled 310 kills and ranks third on the squad in kills and kills per set (2.40) while also ranking second on the team in total blocks (100), blocks per set (0.78) and hitting percentage (.324). Wilks led the CCIW in attack percentage, hitting .390 in conference contests. A first-team all-conference pick in 2012, Wilks earned first-team all-region and honorable mention All-America honors from the AVCA last season while helping the Bluejays to a conference championship and an NCAA Final Four appearance.

An elementary education and psychology double major, Wilks maintains a grade-point average of 3.96.

As first-team honoree, Wilks will be placed on the national ballot to earn Academic All-America honors.

The Academic All-District teams are broken into eight geographic districts (Elmhurst is in District 7) across the United States and Canada.

Elmhurst is currently ranked fifth in the nation and won its second straight CCIW Championship.
