NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 10,000 meters, Elmhurst's Alyssa Poremba turned in a top performance in the 5,000 meters at the Gregory Invitational to qualify for the NCAA Championships in her second individual event.

Poremba won the 5,000 meters on Thursday night, breaking the finish line in 16:57.97. Her time is the second-fastest 5,000 meter time in Elmhurst history and nearly one minute faster than her top time during the 2013 season. Poremba's time also currently ranks 19th this season in Division III.

Poremba's 10,000 meter time of 35:21.58 continues to rank as the third-fastest time in Division III.

Poremba will run at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on May 22-24 at Ohio Wesleyan University.
