NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Elmhurst women's track and field team totaled 22 points to place sixth at the 2014 CCIW Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
North Central won the team title with 222.5 points while Illinois Wesleyan placed second with 188 points.
Alyssa Poremba was the top finisher for the Bluejays, taking home a pair of all-conference honors. Poremba won an individual title in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:41.33, the fifth-fastest time in Elmhurst school history. Poremba added an all-conference honor in the 1,500 meters with a third-place finish in 4:38.07.
Caitlin O'Mara scored an all-conference finish in the steeplechase, crossing the finish line in seventh place in 12:21.13.
Cynthia Mote totaled 2,350 points in the heptathlon to finish seventh and secure all-conference accolades.
The Bluejays' 4x100 relay squad of
Alex Reid,
Kim Stellmack, Angela Jensen and Mote scored a team point with an eighth-place finish in 56.87 seconds. The 4x400 squad of Reid,
Riley Seiler,
Christina Rentner and Stellmack added an eighth-place finish in 4:31.85.
