Baines Adds Four More Recruits to 2014 Class

ELMHURST, Ill. - Elmhurst men's basketball coach John Baines has announced three additional student-athletes to his incoming 2014 recruiting class

All three student-athletes have made a commitment to attend Elmhurst College and also play basketball for the Bluejays.

Brandon Auker - Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial (5-11, 175 lbs. Guard)
Earned four varsity letters and was a three-year starter at Reitz Memorial High School in Indiana...earned all-state honorable mention honors as a senior...named as an Indiana Junior Class All-Star and was named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association Top 100 as a junior...also lettered in golf.
Coach Baines of Auker - "Brandon is a tremendous addition to our basketball program. He is a gritty leader with true point guard skills. He has the ability to knock down shots and is a very bright player on the court.  With his talent at delivering the ball on time and his desire to be a floor general on the court, I see a very promising future for Brandon. He is a high-character person, great student, and shows signs of being a wonderful teammate. Elmhurst is going to be a great place for Brandon."

Mitch McLaughlin - Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier/Drake (6-2, 175 lbs. Guard)
Spent the past three seasons at Drake University, earning letters the past two seasons...earned varsity letters at Xavier High School...earned all-conference, all-Metro and all-state honors during his senior year...earned all-conference and all-Metro honors as a junior...also earned all-conference honors in football while also lettering in soccer and track and field.
Coach Baines of McLaughlin - "Mitch is going to make an immediate impact in our program. As a player, he is smart, deceptively quick, and shoots the ball very well. He has a great burst in the open floor and has a good sense of how to run a team. He has been playing against high level competition while at Drake and I can see that he is a competitor. He is an exceptional student that is double majoring in Finance and Business Administration.  He is grounded as a person and will be a selfless teammate over the next two years. I couldn't be happier that Mitch is joining our basketball family."

Morten Mueller - Cologne, Germany./Currenta Berufskolleg (6-9, 225 lbs. Forward/Center)
Played for the Leichlinger TV Club Team in Germany.
Coach Baines of Mueller - "Morten is a welcomed addition to our program from overseas. Morten began a relationship with assistant coach, Chris Martin, while Chris played and coached in Germany a few years back. He is a very physical player, solid student, and has expressed a burning desire to improve his game in the U.S. We are anxious to begin working with a player of his ability and frame, and hope Morten develops into a very good piece to our program in the years ahead."

Chris Parrilli - Geneva, Ill./Geneva (6-2, 177 lbs. Guard)
Earned a pair of varsity letters from Geneva High Schol...served as team captain as a senior while finishing sixth in school history in assists (141) and third in steals (84)...named to all-area teams by the Daily Herald and the Kane County Chronicle...earned honorable mention all-area honors as a junior...also an all-conference volleyball player.
Coach Baines of Parrilli - "Chris is a highly sought after CCIW recruit and we couldn't be happier that he chose Elmhurst as his home. Chris can be summed up with one word, winner. He is a tough, hard-nosed player that gets not only the most out of himself, but elevates the level of the players around him. He has the ability to play multiple positions, shoots the ball extremely well, and can guard effectively at the college level. He was well-coached in high school and he led his team to the class 3A sectional final. I'm hoping that Chris can bring the same level of success and enthusiasm as a member of our basketball family."
